At Elevate, we’ve been crisscrossing the country helping schools clarify their purpose, reimagine mission statements, and working with teams on strategic plans and sprints. From whole school curricular assessments to athletic program reviews and recommendations to partnering on a brand overhaul and a new website, we’ve been busy. Lots of leadership coaching, board retreats, and being a thought partner to help schools imagine their futures and confront what is holding them back.
We’ve found over and over again that schools see us as a trusted partner, and we’re often asked if we can provide more support in a broad array of areas. That demand has led us to expand our team.
We are excited to introduce three new consultants and two strategic partners to the Elevate team.
Libby Barlow is supporting our institutional research by building tools and conducting analyses that help us make meaning of quantitative and qualitative data. Having served in leadership roles at Northfield Mount Hermon School, St.Paul’s School, University of Houston, and Syracuse University, Libby is now the Associate Provost for Institutional Research at Dartmouth College.
Tung Trinh focuses on faculty development, department heads and division heads, workshop facilitation, and interdisciplinary curriculum and program design. He is currently the Dean of Faculty at the Collegiate School (Richmond). He began his independent school career at Shore Country Day (Beverly, MA), then served as Dean of Students and Middle School Head at Garrison Forest School (MD) before taking on the role of Middle School Head at Collegiate.
Tim Downes focuses on athletic audits, athletic department consulting, and strategic planning and operations for athletic programs. He’s joined the leadership team at the Hillbrook School (San Jose) to help them establish an athletic program for their new upper school. He has years of experience as the AD at Westminster School (Atlanta) and was the Director of Athletics and Recreation at Emory University.
Suzan Brinker and her marketing agency, Viv Education, partners with Elevate to leverage Viv’s higher education enrollment management and marketing experience to benefit independent schools, which are confronting many of the same challenges faced by higher ed. Viv has worked with 95+ institutions across 15 countries. Before founding Viv, Suzan served as the Director of Marketing at Penn State World Campus and Northeastern University.
Finally, we’re thrilled to be working with Tyton Partners. Recently, they conducted a deep and comprehensive regional and local market analysis of growth opportunities for a large school facing softening enrollment. The school was also confronting concerns around tuition pricing. Elevate is helping the school manage the execution and organizational change to deliver on the advice and insights that Tyton identified so that the school can enhance its competitive advantages and seize critical opportunities.
There is real strength in the collective wisdom of a team that includes thoughtful and sharp individuals from schools, higher education, and business. We’re excited for what the new year brings.
